Anime Explosion once again is opening up it's doors to those looking to break into the exciting business of Anime websites. With the launch of AE Version Next we've recently had several staff positions open up in the following areas:

Funimation cans ShoDojo project?

Funimation Entertainment has not renewed their domain name for their upcoming social networking website entitled ShoDojo. Last year at Anime Expo Funimation Entertainment had confirmed that they were launching their own social networking website to cater to the anime fan base communities. In a promotional video they claimed ShoDojo would offer 1000's of episodes and members waiting for subscribers.

AE Documentary Casting Call

AE is preparing to film a documentary on the lifestyle of cosplayers, to be taken to various film festivals and anime cons nationwide. We are in the process of planning and preparing to audition cosplayers in the New York City area who are willing to be interviewed and filmed at events and during costume-making.

YTV removes Bleach and Naruto from lineup

For all those Canadian AE fans out there I regret to inform you that YTV has removed Bleach and Naruto from their schedule as of Saturday. Naruto had been re-airing repeats of the series ever since last year when they were the only North American country to run the series in its entirety on TV. As for Bleach we'll there's no info on when or if Bleach will return to YTV. However, Pokemon, Pretty Cure, and Dinosaur King all are still airing on the block.

Nobou Uematsu is a guest at Anime Boston

The world-renowned composer of many Final Fantasy video game soundtracks Nobou Uematsu will be one of the guests at this year’s Anime Boston. The convention will be held April 2nd-4th at Boston's Hynes Convention Center. Nobou Uematsu also did the soundtracks for Ah! My Goddess the Movie and Final Fantasy VII Advent Children his most famous works come from the Final Fantasy VII video game soundtrack.

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is coming to Adult Swim

Well awhile back we reported that a new "untitled" anime series would be coming to the Adult Swim Lineup beginning Feb. 14th at 12am. The LA Angeles Weekly Newspaper’s Blog and Funimation’s Website have confirmed that Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood will be coming to Adult Swim starting Feb. 14th at 12am. So this is the mystery anime that will be airing on the lineup at the current moment 26 episodes of the series are scheduled to air on Adult Swim the series is still ongoing in Japan.

Sega Announces Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1

Today Sega has confirmed that it's rumored 2D Sonic game entitled project Needle Mouse is in fact the highly anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog 4. The game will return Sonic to his 2D Classic Gameplay and look. Sega has confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 will pick up right after the events of Sonic and Knuckles. The game will be available for download on the Playstation Network, XBOX Live, and Wii Ware this summer! Click read more to view the official teaser trailer.

AE Radio S3's Finale & Yugioh Roundtable live tonight at 9pm EST

Join us for a one night only event. Do to our heavy schedules this week Omega Zed and I will be doing a combined show AE Radio Season 3's season finale and also Yugioh RoundTable's 2nd episode. AE Radio S3's Finale will air from 9pm-10pm, Yugioh Roundtable will air from 10pm-11pm. Keep in mind this is a special one night only double show event to please all the listeners of both AE Radio Network shows check it out live tonight at 9pm EST on BTR: AE Radio!

Viz Pictures to release 20th Century Boys 2: The Last Hope on DVD

Our friends over at Viz Pictures/Viz Media have confirmed for us that the highly anticipated 20th Century Boys 2: The Last Hope film will be released on DVD Feb. 16th for MSRP US $24.99/$35.99 CAN. Here's the official press release, which goes into further detail about the film:

Several Websites are now streaming Gundam Series legally for free

We reported this news awhile back that the Bandai Channel website would be releasing several of there Gundam series on several websites via free streaming. Well ANN is currently streaming the entire Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta series (English subtitles) until April 22nd on it's website. They also have announced they will begin streaming the entire series of the original Mobile Suit Gundam series (English Dub) and the alternate universe Gundam series Mobile Suit Gundam Seed (English Subtitles) beginning on Feb. 20th.

Live Action Ghost in the Shell News

Well Hollywood lately has been adapting several popular anime titles into live action adaptations so it's no surprised that Ghost in the Shell is getting the live action treatment. In a recent interview posted on MoviesOnline.Ca and ScreenRant.com screenwriter for the film Laeta Kalogridis confirmed that the film would be based on the Ghost in the Shell Manga as oppose to the anime film. He stated that, "the upcoming movie will have "a lot of action … lots of action." He also said there would be a nod to the anime film...
